eir business is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a team of network and security infrastructure professionals delivering managed network services to a large Irish enterprise client. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and ongoing support of enterprise networking and cloud security components in a hybrid environment including Azure with a strong focus on Check Point and Cisco technologies. 

The role supports business-critical services, ensuring high availability, security compliance, and operational excellence. You will act as an SME, engaging with engineers, management, and customer stakeholders to define solution approaches, agree maintenance objectives, introduce new capabilities, initiate technical improvements, and drive issue resolution.

This is a hands-on role covering solution design and delivery, plus the management and operation of critical infrastructure to a high standard. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential. 

Hybrid role, based in HSQ Dublin.

•Design, implement and support secure network and security solutions on-premises and Azure.

•Automate Azure infrastructure, network and security deployments using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).

•Implement API-driven security automation, including management of Check Point CloudGuard policies and configurations.

•Support Cisco networking and security technologies, including routing and switching, BGP, IPSec VPNs, Firepower and ACI, providing proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity planning and service improvement.

•Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud and security teams to deliver resilient and secure cloud solutions.

•Monitor, troubleshoot and continuously improve cloud network and security services.

•Support security reviews, incident response activities and compliance requirements.

•Perform planned changes, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of network and security platforms. 

•Manage infrastructure reliability, ensuring availability, performance, resilience, and compliance with agreed SLAs. 

•Prepare and deliver customer-facing security reports, technical briefings covering firewall operations, threat activity, policy compliance, risk exposure, and remediation recommendations.

•Proven experience designing and operating networking and security in on-premise and Azure cloud infrastructure.

•Strong understanding of Azure networking and security services, build out of Check Point Security and ExpressRoute with a knowledge of VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Load Balancing and network segmentation.

•Hands-on experience with Terraform, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation of cloud network and security services.

•Experience with API-driven integrations and security automation, including Check Point CloudGuard or similar cloud security platforms.

•Strong experience with Cisco networking and security technologies, including routing and switching, BGP, IPSec, packet capture and advanced network troubleshooting.

•Experience supporting and managing Cisco physical and virtual routers, Firepower Management Centre (FMC) and Firepower Threat Defence (FTD) platforms.

•Knowledge of Cisco ACI, including routing, switching and L3Out connectivity.

•Experience with firewall management, monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity planning and performance optimisation across enterprise environments.

•Strong operational experience in large-scale enterprise and multi-site environments, with proven expertise in solution design, deployment, delivery and ongoing operational management.

•Excellent interpersonal skill including relationship development skills influencing, and communications skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels within the business and external customer.
