About This Role:

The Head of Private Cloud provides end-to-end ownership of the Private Cloud portfolio, including cloud strategy, service catalogue development, platform lifecycle management, commercial performance, customer engagement and operational excellence. The role ensures that Private Cloud services remain secure, resilient, scalable and aligned with customer requirements and organisational objectives.

As the functional leader for Private Cloud Services, the role works closely with Sales, Pre-Sales, Service Delivery, Architecture, Security, Commercial and Operations to develop and deliver market-leading cloud services that drive business growth and customer success.

Expectations From The Role:

Strategic Leadership

·   Define and execute the Private Cloud strategy and roadmap.

·   Establish a long-term vision for cloud services, platforms and capabilities.

·   Drive innovation, cloud transformation and technology adoption initiatives.

·   Identify relevant market trends and emerging technologies.

·   Align Private Cloud services with organisational growth plans and customer requirements.

Service Portfolio Ownership

·   Own and maintain the Private Cloud service catalogue.

·   Define service offerings, service standards and operating models.

·   Lead the development of new cloud products and services.

·   Ensure service propositions remain commercially viable and operationally effective.

·   Manage the lifecycle of cloud services from inception through retirement.

Commercial Management

·   Own the commercial performance of the Private Cloud portfolio.

·   Develop pricing strategies, service costing models and financial forecasts.

·   Support bid responses, customer proposals and strategic business cases.

·   Drive revenue growth, margin improvement and profitability objectives.

·   Collaborate with Sales and Pre-Sales to support customer acquisition and retention.

Cloud Platform Leadership

·   Provide executive leadership for Digital Planet Private Cloud platforms.

·   Ensure platform availability, resilience, scalability and performance.

·   Oversee technology refresh, lifecycle planning and capacity management.

·   Drive operational automation and service optimisation initiatives.

·   Lead strategic infrastructure and cloud transformation programmes.

Customer Leadership

·   Act as executive sponsor for strategic cloud customers.

·   Build trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders.

·   Participate in governance forums, service reviews and steering committees.

·   Ensure customer feedback informs service and platform development.

·   Drive high levels of customer satisfaction and service adoption.

Requirements For A Successful Application:

 

Essential Experience

·    Extensive experience leading cloud, infrastructure or managed service operations.

·    Strong understanding of private cloud and hybrid cloud environments.

·   Demonstrated success managing large-scale technical teams and services.

·   Commercial and financial management experience.

·   Experience developing service portfolios and customer propositions.

·   Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing leadership skills.

·   Experience operating within ITIL-based service management environments.

Technical Knowledge

·   VMware and virtualisation platforms.

·   Private and hybrid cloud architectures.

·   Compute, storage and networking technologies.

·   Backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutions.

·   Monitoring, automation and orchestration platforms.

·   Security, governance and compliance frameworks.

·   Infrastructure lifecycle and capacity management.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

·   Relevant VMware certifications.

·   Microsoft Azure or AWS certifications.

·   ITIL certification.

·   Experience within a managed service provider environment.

·   Experience developing cloud products, catalogues and commercial service offerings.
