About This Role:

Job Purpose

  • The Junior Bid Writer is responsible for developing clear and memorable proposals that meet requirements of customers. 

  • This role is essential to the effectiveness of bids, while supporting Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to craft compliant and persuasive responses to tenders. 

  • The position also requires building and maintaining strong working relationships with the bid team and colleagues in Sales, Sales Support, Product, and marketing to ensure smooth and timely submission of customer focuses, high scoring bids.

Expectations From The Role:

Key Responsibilities 

  • Narrative development in alignment with win strategy

  • Completion of relevant research for each opportunity

  • Analysis of tenders including requirements of specific questions

  • Development of storyboards that address requirements while highlighting the unique customer benefits of our solution

  • Supporting SMEs responding to tenders, before writing and improve early drafts

  • Review for clarity, compliance and readability

  • Contribution to development of graphics and related captions 

  • Collaborate with Presales, Sales, Service Delivery to address any gaps identified in reviews

  • Contribute to a customer-focused, collaborative, and high-performing team environment

  • Assist with coordination of bids, reporting and administrative tasks as needed

  • Develop and maintain a library of standard responses, case studies, and project profiles.

  • Work to tight deadlines while contributing to multiple tenders simultaneously

  • Assist in post-submission clarifications and presentations when required

  • Continuously improve bid content and contribute to win themes and strategy sessions


Requirements For A Successful Application:

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in journalism or English, and the ability to write with the reader's interest at heart

  • Interest in learning how writing techniques support business growth and tender winning 

  • A thorough approach, diligent, with attention to detail

  • Keen interest in business and competing to win sales

  • Commitment to see projects through from start to finish

  • Good interpersonal skills with ambition to develop a career in bid writing and business winning.

Desired but not essential:

  • A good understanding of technology and how it supports business performance

  • Knowledge of bid writing 

  • Membership of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) professional body

  • It would be great if you have some of these, but if not we'll help you with them.+

  • The successful candidate should be self-motivated, hardworking, meticulous in their

  • approach and have a keen interest in applying the latest industry developments.
