The primary functions of the role are to provide project delivery as well as 3rd level service incident and maintenance support to the assigned customer base, along with detailed problem analysis and liaison with third parties as required.
The Network Engineer is a critical role within the eir evo UK business to deliver exceptional customer service and technical capability across our customer base. The successful candidate must have strong technical capabilities across Cisco LAN, WLAN, SDA and ACI technologies. This knowledge should be complimented with a keen interest in new and emerging technologies and an ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
Overview of responsibilities will include
Expectations From The Role:
Feed into solution design, build and support of infrastructure underpinned by a solid understanding of network and security requirements and solutions.
Maintain knowledge of customers’ current system and service requirements and utilise where appropriate in designing customer solutions.
Provide 3rd level support to customer base.
Participation in on-call rota to deliver 24x7 services.
Documentation of delivered solutions.
Implementation, including the creation of comprehensive documentation such as Statements of Work, High- and Low-Level Designs, and test plans.
Adherence to existing customer change control procedures and/or establishment of suitably secure/auditable procedures.
Engage and participate in presentations to customers, verbal and written.
Cascade pertinent technical information of newly delivered solutions to Service Operations Centre.
Collaborate with eir evo colleagues, Vendors and Partners on emerging technologies
Build and support customer solutions underpinned by a solid understanding of network and security requirements and solutions.
Presentations to customers, verbal and written.
Participate in Supplier Accreditation programmes relevant to the position, including successful completion of exams.
Remain current regarding market developments and trends.
Collaboration and knowledge sharing with other members of the Operations Team.
Requirements For A Successful Application:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) at a minimum
Demonstrable practical experience with the Fortinet product suite
Knowledge of Enterprise-class IP environments and Enterprise-level customer expectations related to same is essential. This knowledge is preferably gained from a background (at least 3 years) in commercial professional services in a variety of Enterprise/Government clients
Effective networking skills to lead and influence people, decisions and policies
Capable of working both independently and as part of a virtual team
Proven ability to develop good interpersonal working relationships
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong communicator with ability to work with people at all levels
Collaborating effectively within a team structure
Desirable experience and qualifications:
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or practical experience
Designing Cisco Wireless Networks (ENWLSD) accreditation
Implementing Cisco Wireless Networks (ENWLSI) accreditation
Fortinet Professional Accreditation
Cyber Security Solutions – Firewalls, IPS, UTM/UTP, SASE,
Experience of Carrier class management tools
Experience of working in a support environment
Experience of MPLS implementation and support
Experience of Cisco wireless implementation and support
Experience /Accreditations with Fortinet and Aruba technologies
