Eir Business is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to join a team of network and security infrastructure professionals delivering managed network services to a large Irish enterprise client. You will act as a senior SME, engaging with engineers, management, and customer stakeholders to define solution approaches, agree maintenance objectives, introduce new capabilities, and drive issue resolution. You will initiate technical improvements and demonstrate leadership across the security infrastructure domain.
This is a hands-on role covering solution design and delivery, plus the management and operation of critical infrastructure to a high standard. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential.
As the client progresses its cloud-native agenda, you will also support cloud delivery principles, including IaC, DevOps practices, and automation tooling.
Expectations From The Role:
Provide hands-on design, delivery, operation of critical network and security platforms to a high operational standard.
Support incident response, troubleshooting and RCA across security infrastructure.
Perform planned changes, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of network and security platforms.
Manage infrastructure reliability, ensuring availability, performance, resilience, and compliance with agreed SLAs.
Contribute to and validate high‑level and low‑level designs, ensuring secure, scalable, and supportable solutions.
