Full Stack Software Engineer| .NET, Blazor and Azure

eir business is Ireland’s trusted provider of secure, managed connectivity, cloud, cybersecurity, workplace, mobile and technology talent solutions. eir business is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our software engineering team and support the continued development of the customer-facing web portals and related cloud-native applications.

Role overview

This is a hands-on full stack engineering role for an experienced software engineer with strong Microsoft technology stack expertise. The successful candidate will design, develop and enhance modern web applications using Blazor, C# and .NET, with Microsoft Azure services and microservices-based architectures. The role combines front-end ownership, back-end development, systems integration, and participation in architectural and technical design decisions.

Working within a small Agile development team, the Senior Software Engineer will translate business and product requirements into secure, scalable and maintainable software, while promoting reusable components, clean engineering practices and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

•  Design, develop, test and enhance user interfaces for the customer-facing portals and related web applications.

•  Build modern cloud-based solutions using C#, .NET and Microsoft Azure technologies.

•  Develop responsive Blazor applications using Server and/or WebAssembly hosting models.

•  Create reusable, maintainable and scalable web components, libraries and services.

•  Design, develop and consume REST APIs and support integration with internal and external services.

•  Analyse requirements and translate them into effective technical designs and working software.

•  Participate in solution architecture, technical design, code review and engineering standards decisions.

•  Apply object-oriented design, SOLID principles, clean code practices and appropriate design patterns.

•  Develop and maintain unit and integration tests, and support cross-browser compatibility testing.

•  Troubleshoot application, API, integration and service connectivity issues through resolution.

•  Contribute to CI/CD, release automation and DevOps practices across the software delivery lifecycle.

•  Collaborate with product, cloud, operations and other stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.

•  Contribute to product innovation, technical documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

•  Share technical knowledge and mentor less experienced engineers where appropriate.

Required skills and experience

Full stack and front-end development

•  Demonstrable commercial software engineering experience, ideally within the mid-level to senior range.

•  Strong experience with Blazor Server and/or Blazor WebAssembly.

•  Front-end development experience using JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5, CSS3 and DOM manipulation.

•  Experience implementing responsive web design and cross-browser compatible applications.

•  Ability to create UI prototypes and mock-ups and translate them into production-quality interfaces.

.NET engineering

•  Strong C# and modern .NET experience, including .NET Core / ASP.NET Core technologies.

•  Sound knowledge of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, clean code practices and design patterns.

•  Experience building reusable web components, libraries and application services.

•  Understanding of declarative programming concepts and maintainable software design.

Integration, APIs and quality

•  Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.

•  Working knowledge of JSON, XML and YAML data formats.

•  Experience testing, troubleshooting and supporting APIs and service integrations.

•  Practical use of Git source control, unit testing and integration testing.

•  Ability to analyse requirements and deliver robust, tested software that meets agreed acceptance criteria.

Preferred skills and experience

•  Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native application development.

•  Microservices architecture and distributed application design.

•  Relational databases, T-SQL and Entity Framework.

•  Kubernetes, containers and container orchestration.

•  Authentication and authorization technologies, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML and JWT.

•  Enterprise integration solutions and network communication protocols.

•  Experience testing REST and SOAP-based services.

•  Power BI reporting and dashboard development.

•  Experience with a modern JavaScript framework in addition to Blazor.

•  CI/CD implementation and broader DevOps engineering practices.

Qualifications

•  Bachelor’s degree at Level 8 or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.

•  Relevant Microsoft, Azure or software development certification is advantageous.
